Guest Editor’s Introduction: Leading from the Margins

In recent years, our world has confronted significant challenges, reshaping global dynamics in unforeseen ways. This edition focuses on leadership development strategies serving oral learners within the Church, urging action to equip the broader Christian community. Through case studies, interviews, and articles, we showcase exemplary leadership development models, illustrating the Global Church’s tireless efforts to reach the nations. Rev. Joseph W. Handley Jr., Ph.D. (@jwhandley), is the president/CEO of A3. Previously, he was the found-ing Director of Azusa Pacific University’s Office of World Mission and lead mission Pastor at Rolling Hills Covenant Church. He co-led one of the first multi-nation- al high school mission congresses in Mexico City in 1996 and is a contributing blogger for the Billy Graham Center’s Gospel-Life Blog. Joe serves as co-catalyst for the Lausanne Movement in Leader Development and on the advisory teams for the Nozomi Pro-ject, BiblicalTraining.org, DualReach, and the board for ReIgnite Hope.
